On Thursday, 26 June, 60 members of the Aldershot, Farnborough and Yateley Conservatives gathered for their Annual General Meeting, marking a key moment of renewal and reflection for the local association. Held with strong attendance, the evening provided an opportunity for members to socialise, review the past year and elect a new Executive Committee.
The meeting opened with reports from the outgoing officers, including the Chairman, Deputy Chair Political, Deputy Chair Membership, and Treasurer. Members expressed their appreciation for the outgoing committee's dedication and efforts over the previous year.
Elections followed the formal proceedings. Dick Brown was unanimously elected as President, with Freddie Downing and Stuart Trussler also elected unopposed as Deputy Chair Political and Treasurer, respectively.
The roles of Chairman and Deputy Chair Membership saw contested elections. Candidates for both positions made their case to the membership and fielded questions before votes were cast. After competitive ballots, Dan Kelly was elected Chairman and Louisa Pullen Deputy Chair Membership.
The meeting concluded just before 10pm, with a full Executive Committee in place and poised to lead the association into the exciting year ahead, particularly with local elections on the horizon in 2026.
