Leo Docherty elected as MP for Aldershot

After an intense campaign immediately following the highly successful County elections Leo Docherty was elected as MP with 55% of the vote a majority of almost 11,500.

Congratulations to Leo Docherty for being selected on 28th April by the Aldershot and North Hampshire Conservative Association to succeed Sir Gerald Howarth as Prospective Conservative Candidate for the Aldershot constituency at the General Election on Thursday the 8th of June.

It is with some sadness that last night I informed the Chairman and Officers of the Aldershot and North Hampshire Conservative Association that I shall not be seeking re-election at the forthcoming General Election.

Refurbishment Works to the Aldershot High Street Railway Bridge

Network Rail have announced plans to carryout major refurbishment works on the High Street railway bridge.  Work will involve the demolition of the existing bridge superstructure and the erection of a new deck.These are major works at a key pinch point in our town.  Inevitably these essential works are going to cause delays and disruption to both road and rail users, with some train services being substituted with replacement buses.  Network Rail are currently holding talks with the local council about road closures.Work is scheduled to commence on 23rd, May with the main work taking place on 27th, June.Network Rail will be holding a drop in session at the EBB Stadium on 9th, March from 3:30pm to 8pm for local residents who may have questions about the bridge works.
