Rushmoor Conservatives warn residents of looming cuts to street cleaning, parks and recycling as Labour leadership prioritises wasteful projects.
Residents across Aldershot and Farnborough are already noticing the growing litter and fly-tipping blight – and things may soon get worse. Rushmoor’s Labour-led council is preparing to slash frontline environmental services as it struggles to balance the books for its new environmental contract.
Instead of tackling the issue head-on, Labour is diverting resources into pet projects like the failing “Walk This Way” scheme, while street cleaning, recycling and park maintenance all face cuts. With inflation and the Government’s National Insurance hikes placing further pressure on council finances, Labour is refusing to back Conservative proposals to protect services by using alternative funding.
