Sir Gerald raises over £500 for Prostate Cancer UK

Mission Accomplished!  Sir Gerald has completed  ‘Movember’ and in the process raised over £500 on his JustGiving page for Prostate Cancer UK.  This excellent charity focuses on increasing awareness, and using funds to improve care and research into this dreadful condition.   The only way it was possible for Sir Gerald to raise this amount of money was due to the generous support of constituents, family and colleagues.

Sir Gerald said: “I am truly thrilled to have raised over £500 for ‘Movember’, I can only say thank you to those generous enough to donate to my Just Giving page.  Prostate Cancer UK do excellent work raising awareness, and funds to improve care into this silent killer, and I am proud to have taken part in this event, its great to see so many other Parliamentarians from across the spectrum taking part also.”

‘Movember’ is an annual event in November when men refrain from shaving their moustache in order to raise awareness and money for Prostate Cancer, which is seen as the silent killer of men.  Having originally been started by 5 men in America, it has come along way and found itself across the atlantic, with many in Britain taking part.

Sir Gerald wasn’t the only Parliamentarian taking part in the event.  With MP’s, Staff and Policemen also growing their Mo’ for the cause.
