Sir Gerald welcomes Rushmoor CAB to Parliament

Sir Gerald welcomed 46 volunteers and employees from Rushmoor CAB in his Aldershot constituency for a tour of Parliament.  Before conducting the tour, Sir Gerald handed out certificates in Westminster Hall to 9 volunteers for long service and dedication to the service of Rushmoor CAB.

Rushmoor CAB is the local branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau in Sir Gerald’s constituency, they provide advice on issues which affect people’s daily lives.  These services include:  providing debt advice, helping benefit recipients and helping individuals at a court or tribunal case.  Whilst the CAB does have paid employees, the majority of their staff are volunteers like the recipients of the certificates today; some of whom have served at their local CAB for over 20 years.

Sir Gerald said “It was a pleasure to welcome the Rushmoor CAB to the Houses of Parliament for a tour of this iconic building.  I was proud to present the volunteers’ certificates which rightfully recognises their hardwork and dedication.  The CAB provides an excellent service for many of my constituents and is dependent on the loyal service of these wonderful volunteers.”
